PRISM is a coalition of the Presbyterian Churches in Elizabeth and Hillside and the Elizabethport Presbyterian Center, a mission of the Presbytery of Elizabeth. The members are First Presbyterian Church, Second Presbyterian Church, Third-Westminster Presbyterian Church, Siloam-Hope Presbyterian Church, Greystone Presbyterian Church, Hillside/Millennium New Church Development and the Elizabethport Presbyterian Center. The Administrative Board has representatives from each of the members and three units of the Presbytery of Elizabeth, Congregational Strategy and Resources, Evangelism and Church Growth, and Outreach and Social Concerns.
The transformation initiative is being furthered through the vision, wisdom, and support of the former Elmora Presbyterian Church members.
PRISM’s Vision: PRISM seeks through its love for Christ and the church to manifest itself in the unity of the body of Christ as it gives witness to its faith in a reformed tradition in one citywide parish with several locations.
PRISM’s Mission is:
To serve as a catalyst to develop and implement an urban strategy for the transformation of the Churches toward wholeness, health and growth in witness to Jesus Christ;
To discover, plan for and implement new models of cooperative and/or unified ministries to serve the spiritual and human needs of Elizabeth & Hillside, NJ’s rich, diverse and changing population;
To support and help develop new leadership and discipleship for life, ministry and witness based on the gifts God provides in each individual, and
To develop partnerships with other churches of the Presbytery, community, The Presbytery of Elizabeth and others to engage in this urban mission.
PRISM’s Core Values include helping one another be accountable for the faith and unity of Christ’s Church that is within us through

Faithful participation by and representation of the PRISM members on the Board of PRISM;
Partnership with the Presbytery of Elizabeth as faithful members and participants in its larger mission.
